TIME TO TAKE A STAND!

Okay, here goes. I don't usually use my blog as a personal journal, soap box, political platform, or view into my religion, but I have felt so impressed lately to make some comments. I in no way am trying to offend or single anyone out. This is just how I feel!
So many friends and family members of mine have left the church in the past year that my heart is literally bleeding with pain and sorrow. Maybe I haven't been a good enough friend or family member and I completely accept that it will be on my head. The one thing I will do no longer is sit idly by and not take a stand for what I believe. If those who don't believe the same way I do can say what they want, why can't I? I will defend what I believe, I will defend my political views, and I will stand as a witness of God at all times, in all things, and in all places! If that means I might be unpopular in the mean time, so be it! I will fear GOD and not man.
Just look around you right now. Our economy is failing, and by the looks of it our government as well, there are natural disasters abroad, and more and more members are being led away by the craftiness of men. Prophesies have been fulfilled and are being fulfilled right now! As I went to the grocery store today and noticed prices are up almost $1 on some items, I thought of President Hinckley's counsel. Have a year’s supply of food storage, get out of debt, and have money saved. That is counsel we could be relying on very soon with the housing market slump, the financial crisis, gas prices, and the near "depression" we are about to enter. How can we ignore what is coming to pass!! I urge you all (including myself) to dive into the scriptures. They are true!! What the ancient people have gone through we are going through now! The scriptures are our manual to true freedom, eternal freedom! The only thing we need to do is ENDURE. My friends and family, I love you all and hope and pray we can take a stand and endure to the end.

Thanks for the comments, Dawn. I've been pretty down lately about many of the same issues. We may have our political differences---but i think we have share a lot of really important fundamentals.

This is definitely a scary time right now. I can't believe how expensive everything is getting and it worries me that we're not going to keep our lifestyles up for much longer.

Ooh! I forgot to tell you and Mady thank you for helping Chloe out with her project! Don't worry if you can't get everything, she will still be so excited to see where he travels! Hopefully her teacher will keep her posted after we move! ;)

All of the things going on right now are definitely making me nervous about the future. I think you are right, we should be standing up for all of the things that we believe. Well said!

I think that was so perfectly said Dawn. The only thing that will remain constant and stable through everything else is the Gospel. These are scary times, and it seems that faith is what we all need a lot of right now.

Japan looked awesome by the way!

AND please tell Miss Mady Happy Birthday for us! We hope she has a great day! I can't believe she is already 8!! When do you think she will be getting baptized? And are you putting your house up for sale now? Or will you wait a little while? Tough decisions, but I am so happy that you will be in Texas! Everybody I know that has moved there absolutely LOVES it! The winters will definitely be better!! ;)

Amen Girl! Cory and I try, sometimes, to speak our peace to his family about things they do that we don't approve of, and guess what, they are going to do it whether you want them to or not, so I figure you have to do what you can and say what you feel, because that's the only way we can say that we've tried. I've also been wanting to put a couple of things on my blog that may be a little "preachy" but guess what, it's my blog and I can say what I want to, right? Thanks for the inspiration. In the next couple of days you might find some ramblings about music and clothes, because I'm just on one!! BTW - I love your Halloween look. I think I need to change to something more fall-like.
